Police Chief Search, Regulating Signs in Right-of-Way on Agenda for Apple Valley City Council

The Apple Valley City Council is slated to get an informal update on recruitment of a new police chief, as well as review the city's regulations for signage in the right-of-way at its meeting on Thursday.

In the fall, Apple Valley city officials discussed whether to prohibit signage in the public right-of-way, due to issues they saw with safety and aesthetics, much in relation to election and campaign signs. The council postponed making a decision about the issue when members of the business community said it could potentially hurt their businesses.
