Police Give Rosemount Bars, Liquor Stores 100 Percent Rating During Compliance Check

Rosemount's drinking establishments passed 2013 compliance checks with flying colors.

Raise a toast to this: During the City of Rosemount's annual alcohol compliance check all 17 establishments passed muster.

The Rosemount Police Department conducted the check on June 27, each time sending an underage person in to purchase alcohol from a bar, restaurant, liquor store, grocery store, or other licensed outlet. If employees refuse the sale, the retailer passes. Anyone who sells to an underage customer during a check is immediately issued a citation. In addition, the owner may be subjected to further civil penalties through the city and the employee could be charged with a crime.

This year, not a single citation was issued.

The PD praised the bars, liquor stores and gas stations for "the great results of zero failures, along with their ongoing commitments in keeping alcohol out of the possession of minors."
