ROSEMOUNT, MN — A Rosemount man is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl he met online, according to a criminal complaint filed in Dakota County District Court.
Dalton Matthew Current, 20, was charged Friday with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual misconduct, the complaint reads. Each count carries a sentence of up to 15 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $30,000, according to the complaint.
He is being held in Dakota County Jail on $100,000 bail without conditions or $75,000 with conditions.

The girl told Current that she is 15, the complaint said. The girl told police that Current said he is 20 and didn't care that she was 15 and still wanted to meet her, officials said.
Current picked up the teen Wednesday morning and they had sex at his home in Rosemount, according to police. The girl said that Current wanted to have sex again after she repeatedly told him no and that he choked her before sexually assaulting her, officials said.
After the assault, Current dropped the girl off at a park, according to police.
Current was arrested at his home later that day after the assault was reported, police said. Police got a warrant to search the home and found items that lined up with the girl's description of events, according to officials.
Once Current was booked into Dakota County Jail, officers learned that he was the subject of a warrant in Illinois for an armed robbery, according to officials.
After contacting Illinois law enforcement, Rosemount investigators learned that Current was accused of having sex with a man he met on a dating app before threatening the man with a knife, police said. Officials said that Current stole jewelry and electronics from the man, which were later found in his home.
Current was identified by the man through a physical description, a description of his car, the contact information he used on the app, and his phone number, police said.
