The Eagles boys basketball team won its division in the Granite City Classic over the winter break. See how other teams fared in their games and tournaments.

Boys Basketball
: Apple Valley in St. Cloud over the winter break, first beating Buffalo 69-60, then putting up 100 points against Rocori in a 100-74 championship win. According to the Eagles athletics department, a review of the championship game tape is underway to see whether sophomore Tyus Jones scored 39 or 42 points in the championship game, a discrepancy between the teams' score books. Forty-two would set the school record for points scored in a game.
The Eagles next face Prior Lake at home, at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
: Eastview beat Minneapolis South 77-45 on Friday. Joey King had 25 points, followed by Darin Haugh's 19 and Ben Oberfeld's 15, in the victory. Eastview next plays at Eagan at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Girls Basketball
Apple Valley: Apple Valley's last game was its 57-65 loss to Rosemount on Dec. 20. Next up for the Eagles is a 7:15 p.m. Tuesday game away at Prior Lake.
Eastview: Eastview won two of its three games at the St. Olaf College Classic, stopping Northfield 66-20 and Souix Falls Washington of South Dakota 68-51, but falling to Minnetonka 41-36. topped New Prague 48-44 on Friday. Madison Guebert led Eastview in scoring in all three games, her most being 29 points against Souix Falls. The Lightning will play Eagan at home at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Boys Hockey
Apple Valley: The Eagles over the break, after an initial 6-2 loss to Breck followed by a 4-1 win against Stillwater—goals from Johnny Dirks, Anthony Leong, Jake Niederer and Jordan Ocel—and 2-1 win over Bemidji, with goals from Tate Erickson and Trent Heuer. Next up for the Eagles is a 5 p.m. Saturday game against Burnsville at the Burnsville Ice Center.
Eastview: Eastview was two-for-three at the Rochester Kiwanis and ThinkBank Holiday Classic over the break. The Lightning started with a 6-4 loss to Prior Lake on Wednesday, but followed that with a 6-3 victory over Rochester Mayo and a 4-1 win against New Richmond. Scott Nelson had two goals against both Mayo and New Richmond. Eagan is at Eastview at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Girls Hockey
Apple Valley: The Eagles were fourth at the Louis Schmitz Holiday Classic in Farmington. They opened with a 5-3 win over Hastings—Erica Power scored four goals—but fell 2-1 to Rosemount and 4-1 to Eastview. The team will be at Bloomington Kennedy at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, at the Bloomington Ice Garden.
Eastview: Eastview placed third at the Louis Schmitz Holiday Classic in Farmington, opening with a 2-0 win over Farmington, but falling 5-2 to Lakeville North before claiming the third-place spot with a 4-1 win over Apple Valley. Next up is Eagan at home, at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Boys Swim and Dive
Apple Valley: The Eagles hosted nine teams at the Eagle Invite over the break, where Stillwater won in team scoring. Apple Valley faces Eastview on Tuesday.
Wrestling
Apple Valley: Apple Valley was the runner-up team at The Clash tournament in Rochester, where the team previously was three-time defending champions. The tournament pitted the Eagles against several nationally ranked teams, and they ultimately ended up losing the title to No. 2-ranked St. Edwards, Ohio, 32-22. Eastview: Eastview wrestling placed eighth of 19 teams in Division I and 12th of 54 teams total at the Bi-State Classic wrestling tournament in La Crosse, WI. Mitch Rechtzigel won the championship in his weight class, defeating the No. 2 wrestler 8-5. Five wrestlers placed.
