Winter Weather Advisory For Southern Twin Cities: Where It Will Snow And How Much
The National Weather Service warns that quick snow bursts may create slick roads from Redwood Falls to the southern Twin Cities metro.
TWIN CITIES, MN — A Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at midnight for a swath of southern and central Minnesota, including Carver, Scott, and Dakota counties in the southern Twin Cities metro.
The advisory covers Yellow Medicine, Renville, McLeod, Sibley, Carver, Scott, Dakota, Redwood, Brown, Nicollet, Le Sueur, and Rice counties, which include cities such as Shakopee, Prior Lake, Hastings, Chaska, Chanhassen, Le Sueur, St. Peter, New Ulm, Faribault, Redwood Falls, and Granite Falls.
Rain moves in this evening, then changes to a rain/snow mix after midnight.

A narrow band of wet, occasionally heavy snow is expected to develop overnight, according to the National Weather Service.
From 3 a.m. to 9 a.m., a narrow corridor of heavier snow could quickly accumulate and create slushy, slick roads during the Tuesday morning commute.

The band is expected to run from Canby and Redwood Falls to the southern Twin Cities metro to south of Eau Claire.
