2 Burnsville Men Face Felony Drug Distribution Charges

Authorities say they confiscated more than 4.5 pounds of marijuana from the men's home.

Two men are facing felony drug charges after investigators say they found 4.5 pounds of marijuana in their Burnsville home in March.

Huong Xuan Thi Nguyen, 40, and Ha Thi Ngo, 26, who live in the 2300 block of Terrace Drive, each face two counts of fifth-degree drug possession with intent to sell.

The maximum penalty on each charge is five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaints against the two, filed in Dakota County District Court in Hastings, agents with the Dakota County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant in the men’s home on March 15. Both men were home at the time.

During execution of the search warrant, officers found almost a dozen bags containing varying amounts of marijuana throughout the home and in the garage, the complaint says. The drugs were stored in plastic bags and stashed in duffel bags.

Authorities also say they found large amounts of currency and “drug-related notes” in the home, along with documents in Nguyen’s name.

The St. Paul Police Department crime laboratory tested all the confiscated marijuana and determined that it totaled 2047.1 grams, or more than 4.5 pounds, according to the complaint.
