Ask a Master Gardner, Ticket to Brasil Summer Concert, and Buckthorn Disposal

Also happening in Burnsville this week is the last chance for neighborhoods and businesses to register for Minnesota Night to Unite.

Here are some highlights of events taking place in Burnsville this week.

1. The Latest in Sports Medicine

Twin Cities Orthopedics is hosting a free sports medicine conference on Monday evening at 6 p.m. Coaches, athletic trainers and parents are invited to learn from experts about athletes and sports medicine. The conference will be at Twin Cities Orthopedics Burnsville, 1000 West 140th Street, Suite 201. 

2. Ask a Master Gardener

Master Gardeners of Dakota County will be at Burnhaven Library to answer your gardening questions. Feel free to bring in samples from your garden, including insects, to aid in the discussion.

The free event is on Tuesday, July 23 at 6 p.m. in the Burnhaven Library community room, 1101 County Road 42 West.

3. Wednesday in the Park

The outdoor summer concert series takes place at Civic Center Park in Burnsville. The event is free and starts at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. This week’s concert will feature Ticket to Brasil.

4. Last chance

The last day to register your neighborhood or business for Minnesota Night to Unite is Friday, July 26. Night to Unite provides a way for neighbors to get to know each other while increasing awareness of crime prevention

5. Buckthorn  Disposal

The city compost site is open this month for buckthorn disposal on Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28. Only buckthorn is accepted at the site, which is located next to the City archery range on 121st Street and Pleasant Avenue. 

Buckthorn drop-off hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
