• Pathways pioneer, ambassador for 191 retiring (hometownsource.com) — Burnsville readers should know that longtime District 191 Pathways leader Kathy Funston is retiring this month after helping redesign Burnsville High School and expand career-focused programs across all grades. Her work built major partnerships with local businesses, the cities of Burnsville and Savage, and Inver Hills Community College, giving students more hands-on learning and even the chance to earn an associate degree on the BHS campus.

Haji, who calls Burnsville home, says he’ll prioritize workers’ rights, gun violence prevention, affordable health care, stronger public schools, and countering anti–New American sentiment with a focus on unity and opportunity.
