Burnsville High School Student Arrested on Felony Drug Charges

Paige Nichole Chamley is charged with two felony counts of possession of heroin and Ativan.

A Burnsville High School student is facing felony drug charges after police say they found traces of heroin and Ativan in her car last week.

Paige Nichole Chamley, 18, is charged with two felony counts of drug possession, each of which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaint, a Burnsville High School employee noticed Chamley sitting in a car in the school parking lot on Oct. 24, then getting out of her car, smoking a cigarette.

The items were turned over to police, who had them tested. The spoon and the syringe contained trace amounts of heroin, and the straw trace amounts of Ativan, a prescription sedative used to treat anxiety, insomnia and seizures.
