Country Village Management Puts Request for New Rental License on Ice—For Now
For the second time in a month, the owner of the troubled apartment complex has postponed a review of the company's rental license, which was revoked by the city council in January.

The company requested a provisional license this month. Originally, the matter was set to come before the council on July 3, but was continued until the meeting on July 17. Monday, city officials reported that the request had been delayed a second time.
The Pioneer Press reports that the company canceled a city inspection scheduled for Monday and has not set a new date.

"Obviously, we don't want to go before the city council unless we are confident that we're going to meet all the inspections," Jeffrey Lambert, the company's attorney, told the St. Paul newspaper. "The company is losing out on rent. On the other hand, we don't want to go before the council and not get approval. We want to make sure all the work is done."
Lambert said the company could have the property ready as early as Aug. 6.
