Court Followup: Super Pleads Guilty to Fleeing Police in Stolen Vehicle, Hiding in Trash Bin

• A Minneapolis man who led Burnsville police on a 100-mile per hour car chase has pleaded guilty.
In , Jeffrey Michael Super, 29, stole a car from a home on Maple Island Road and fled the scene via Interstate 35W, where police caught up with him. Instead of yielding, Super apparently stepped on the gas, gunning it all the way into Minneapolis neighborhood, where Super jumped out and attempted to escape on foot. Ultimately he was found hiding in a nearby trash bin.
On Oct. 24, Super pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $35,000 fine; car theft and possession of methamphetamine, each of which has a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine; and fleeing a police officer in a vehicle, which carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Super faces additional charges in Dakota County for a string of vehicle break-ins at a Lakeville daycare, car theft and a home burglary.
• A Savage man charged with has has entered a guilty plea. On Nov. 17, Patrick Brian Johnson, 20, pleaded guilty to domestic assault by strangulation, a felony offense.

Johnson will be sentenced on Jan. 17, 2012.
Meanwhile, there are four other pending cases against Johnson — who was arrested in June by Burnsville police after witnesses saw Johnson chasing a and again August after allegedly inciting a fight.
• The jury trial for a Burnsville husband-wife pair accused of extreme child neglect has been postponed.
In March, police arrested , who are accused of barricading their developmentally delayed 7-year-old son in a filthy room, where he was found covered with sores and wearing a diaper filled with his own waste.
The two pleaded not guilty to charges of child neglect in May. Initially, the Worcesters were set to face the court on Nov. 18. The trial has been rescheduled for March 5, 2012.
