Get Out This Weekend, Burnsville: The Nutcracker, Boogie Wonderland and Blatant Youth

1. Blatant Youth: Blatant Youth is an accurate tag for the , which has already made a name for itself in spite of their age — 12 to 15 years old. The young rockers play a mix of original music and covers of classic rock acts like Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and Guns 'n Roses.

They play on Friday at Primetime. The show is 21 plus. It begins at 9:30 p.m.

2. The Nutcracker: For Burnsville residents who are in the market for Christmas fare, look no further than the Burnsville performing Arts Center. The Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota is back to present its annual full-length production of Denise Vogt’s The Nutcracker Ballet. Ballet buffs may recall the company's last Burnsville production, , which played the BPAC in May.

Showtimes are: Friday at 7:00 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Tickets are available online or at the box office. Orchestra seating is $26 for adults, and $21 for children under 12 or seniors (aged 65 or older). Balcony seats cost $16 for adults, $12 children and seniors.

3. Boogie Wonderland: Saturday, strap on your platforms, dust off your three-piece leisure suit and head to McCracken's Pub & Grille. The bar is hosting a "live retro party for the people" — with 70's disco all night long.

4. Mary Blackwehl: The kids' author — known best for her Henry series — will be holding a book signing at the Barnes & Noble in Eagan on Saturday. The signing starts at 2:00 p.m.  

5. Burnsville Girls Basketball Tournment: Girls youth basketball teams — aged fourth grade to eighth — will be vying at this massive showdown on Saturday and Sunday.
