ISD 191 Middle Schools Will Get Out Early Next Year
The two schools currently get out at 2:50 p.m. and will get out 20 minutes earlier-at 2:30 p.m.
BURNSVILLE, MN — ISD 191 announced that its two middle schools will get out early during the 2022-23 school year.
The two schools currently get out at 2:50 p.m. and will get out 20 minutes earlier-at 2:30 p.m., the district said.
The middle schools got out at 2:30 p.m. in 2016, but then the district made the school day longer to accommodate having eight periods in a day, according to the district.

The shorter school day is possible due to the middle schools shifting to a block schedule to reduce the number of transitions for students, according to the district's website.
Ending early will also make it easier for students to participate in after-school activities at the high school, and will also allow staff to engage in teamwork, professional development and family communication, according to the district.
