Minnesota Zoo Holding Summer Photo Contest

The Minnesota Zoo is holding a summer-long photo contest with a grand prize $500 gift certificate to National Camera Exchange.

Photos must be submitted by Sept. 8 in one of six categories related to the different animals and sites around the zoo:

• Tropical Animals
  

• Photos from the Tropics Trail

• Photos from the Medtronic Minnesota Trail

• Photos from the Northern Trail, Russia’s Grizzly Coast & Snow Monkey exhibit (includes Africa! and Dinosaurs! exhibits)

• Photos from the Wells Fargo Family Farm animals

• Photos from Discovery Bay, the Tropical Reef & the 3M Penguins of the African Coast

• People and places around the Zoo
• If people are in the photo, please fill out a release form atwww.mnzoo.org/photocontest and email it to josh.le@state.mn.us  

Step 1. Enter one digital photo into each of the six adult categories; one child category between June 1 – September 8, 2013 online at www.flickr.com/groups/MNZooContest13. 

Step 2. 10 finalists from each category will be selected by September 16, 2013. The finalists’ photographs will then be posted in photo albums on the Zoo's Facebook fan page. Fans will be able to vote for their favorite photo and photo with the most votes in each category will be our category winner.

Step 3: : Vote for your favorite finalist photo between September 16, 2013 and September 22, 2013. 

Step 4: Winners from each category will be announced September 30, 2013, on the Minnesota Zoo’s website and Facebook® fan page along with the overall grand prize winner. The winning photos will be:

- Displayed at the Minnesota Zoo

- Featured on the Minnesota Zoo’s Facebook® page and website
