New Burnsville Thrift Store Regulation Limits Donation-Related Traffic
The Burnsville City Council adopted a regulation to require off-street donation unloading lanes for thrift stores larger than 5,000 square feet.

Under a new ordinance, Burnsville thrift stores larger than 5,000 square feet will have stricter regulations.
The ordinance, passed by the Burnsville City Council last week, bans outdoor operation for the stores and requires a drive-through donation unloading lane behind or at the side of the building, the Star Tribune reported. The regulation is designed to prevent drop-off traffic from backing up onto city streets.
Additionally, the thrift stores' garbage and recycling must be enclosed or screened.
