Nicollet Middle School To Begin Distance Learning Friday
Students will return to in-person learning Jan. 18.
BURNSVILLE, MN — Nicollet Middle School will move to distance learning on Friday, according to a post by ISD 191's superintendent Theresa Battle.
Students will return to in-person learning Jan. 18, Battle said.
Around 20 percent of the school's students are absent due to COVID, and on Wednesday alone, 24 percent of the teachers were absent as well, according to the post.

"Right now, there is no plan to change to distance learning for the entire district, but we will continue to monitor both health conditions and our ability to safely staff our schools and programs," Battle said. "The truth is that we are very likely to see rising cases in our community in the next few weeks."
Battle asked the community to do the following to stop the spread of COVID-19:

- Keep your student home if they have symptoms of COVID-19 and get them tested.
- Avoid crowded places and gatherings.
- Wear a mask when you are inside and with others.
- If your student tests positive, let your school nurse know.
- Get vaccinated and boosted, if you haven’t already.
"We are all going through this pandemic," Battle said. "With an understanding that some of us are affected more than others, let’s choose to go through it together."
Parents with students at Nicollet Middle School will receive a message from the school's principal with more information, Battle said.
