• First round of neighborhood grants to be awarded (hometownsource.com) — Burnsville is set to award up to $50,000 in its first-ever neighborhood grant round, funding projects like park benches, educational signs at Earley Lake, and new community events. Five neighborhood groups, including North River Hills and Cedarbridge Riversedge, will receive up to $10,000 each if the City Council formally approves the grants on Dec. 16.
   

• Burnsville High top blood drive collector (hometownsource.com) — Burnsville High School has been recognized for collecting the most blood donations in the metro area, with 284 units gathered through three student-led drives last school year. The HOSA-Future Health Professionals Club’s blood drive committee organized the effort and is planning another community blood drive at the school on January 29.
   

• Arts calendar published Dec. 10, 2025 (wctrib.com) — A youth dance ensemble from Burnsville is bringing an hour-long, kid-friendly abridged version of “The Nutcracker” to the Willmar Education and Arts Center on Dec. 11. The broader arts calendar also highlights multiple holiday plays, concerts, movies, and family activities across Willmar, Renville, and Raymond throughout mid-December, many with low-cost or free admission for students and children.
