"Food Court Wars," Junk Market: Burnsville Weekend Planner

Watch the Food Network to see food court contestants battle it out for a spot at Burnsville Center or shop at a community garage sale.

Friday


Relay for Life of Burnsville opens at 6:30 p.m. at the Burnsville High School Stadium. The Burnsville Blazettes will hold a beauty shop for children starting at 6 p.m. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

Program highlights consist of:
  • Opening Ceremony - 6:30 p.m.
  • Cancer Survivors Lap - 7 p.m.
  • Caregivers Lap - 7:15 p.m.
  • Luminaria Ceremony - 9:15 p.m.
  • Fight Back and Closing Ceremony - 5:30 a.m.

Saturday


Shop at the South of the River Junk Market, which will feature re-purposed items for sale at the Towne and Country Shopping Center on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Browse and shop at the Community Garage Sale in Savage. The sale starts at 8 a.m. All proceeds All proceeds benefit the scholarship programs at Youth Dance Ensemble and School in Burnsville.

Make marshmallow sculptures at Burnhaven Library. The activity starts at 10 a.m. through the end of the day and is geared toward ages 2 to 15.

Find outdoor tables and chairs at Patio Town's giant outdoor furniture tent sale.

Sunday


"Food Court Wars" airs on the Food Network at 7 p.m. The show will feature a competition for a free spot at Burnsville Center. The contest will pit Slum Dogz, which sells Indian-flavored hot dogs, against Pimento Jamaican Kitchen. 

It's the last day of the outdoor furniture sale at Patio Town.
