Relay For Life in Burnsville will Raise Funds to Fight Cancer

Also this week is the 13th annual South of the River Junk Market.

The 2013 Relay For Life of Burnsville event is coming to the Burnsville High School track on Friday, Aug. 2. 

Relay For Life is a fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. Teams will camp around the track and team members will take turns walking the track throughout the night.

Program highlights consist of:

  • Opening Ceremony - 6:30 p.m.
  • Cancer Survivors Lap - 7 p.m.
  • Caregivers Lap - 7:15 p.m.
  • Luminaria Ceremony - 9:15 p.m.
  • Fight Back and Closing Ceremony - 5:30 a.m.
So far 23 teams and 219 participants have raised $7,870.

Also in Burnsville this week: 

Sew a sleep mask at Burnhaven Library on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.

Attend the New Horizon Academy Open House on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Shop at the South of the River Junk Market, which will feature re-purposed items for sale at the Towne and Country Shopping Center on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
