Kyle Alan Dague is being held on a manslaughter charge in the weekend death of Justin J. Schauer of Burnsville.

A Savage man was arrested early Saturday morning in connection with the death of a Burnsville man in an apartment in the 12700 block of Nicollet Avenue South.

Kyle Alan Dague, 22, has been initially charged with first-degree manslaughter in the death of Justin J. Schauer, 22, according to Burnsville Police Sgt. Rory Bochniak.

“Our officers got a call that the subject might have shot himself,” Bochniak said Tuesday.

Dague made the call to Burnsville police, Bochniak said. When officers arrived, they found Schauer dead and took Dague into custody. Police recovered a handgun at the scene.

“We don’t know exactly what [Dague] told the officers,” Bochniak said. “We’re trying to determine exactly what happened in that apartment.”
