Monday

• Parks & Natural Resources Commission — Cancelled

• The Burnsville City Council is scheduled to meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. The council will consider canceling an upcoming public hearing for the Black Dog Alternate Access Project and the signing of a joint powers agreement between Dakota County for a trail extension on Cliff Road from Mill Pond to Highway 13, among other things

• Burnsville High School will be hosting a College Fair from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities, including the United States Air Force AcademyMinneapolis Community & Technical College, University of Minnesota at Crookston, and private colleges such as Carleton, St. Olaf and Macalester.

• Election: The Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District has asked residents to renew an existing levy — first approved in 2001 — that is up for referendum on Tuesday, Nov. 8. If voters approve the measure, the levy will continue for another 10 years. If not, the levy will expire in 2013. 

Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. For more information on where to vote, go to the Dakota County website.

Wednesday

• Economic Development Commission, 6:30 at City Hall.

Thursday

• Burnsville Uncorked: Thursday night, Burnsville Rotarians will host their ninth-annual fundraiser. Guests will be plied with wine and hors d'oeuvres at the . 

The event runs from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and can be purchased through Rotary Members or at Red Lion Liquors. Tickets are $35 at the door.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Nicollet Commons Rotary Arbor. 

• Burnsville High School's Fall play is in its second week. "Once Upon a Mattress" starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Mraz Center. The play will also be shown at the same time on Friday and Saturday.

• The will host an event called "The Story of Virginia Mae Hope," which will details one wamn's life suring the Great Depression and World War II. The event begins at 7:00 p.m.

Friday

• City offices closed in observance of Veterans Day.

• Veterans Day Program: Gideon Pond Elementary School will honor those who served in our armed forces at 9 a.m. in the gym. First-grade students will perform patriotic songs. Burnsville Police Chief Bob Hawkins will be the key note speaker. Veterans are invited to attend. Call 952-707-3000 for more information. 

• Ribbon Cutting for : Santa Clause will be on hand to commemorate the completion of renovations at the shopping mall. The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Macy's Court area.
