THIS WEEK: Snowboarding, 'Fenmo' and a Smorgasbord of Holiday Music from BHS

Monday

• Planning Commission: Cancelled

• Burnsville High Holiday Concert Series: BHS Choir students will perform on Monday night — regaling the crowd with seasonal classics such as "Deck the Halls" and "Lo, How a Rose e'er Blooming." The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Mraz Center, which is located on BHS' main campus. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at the door.

• The Student Council will be collecting food items for donation to the local food shelf, Monday through Friday. The student council has put out a call for all non-perishable foods, as well as paper products, personal care items and disposable diapers. 

Tuesday

• City Council: Tuesday the Burnsville City Council will be meeting with local legislators during an informal workshop to discuss the upcoming session. Among the issues on the 23 item list are "Photo cops" (automated citation technology, which the city insists is both "constitutional and effective") and voter identification requirements — a GOP initiative that the city opposes.  

• Burnsville High Holiday Concert Series: BHS Choir students will give a repeat performance on Tuesday. As on Monday, the concert begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Mraz Center, which is located on BHS' main campus. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at the door.

• Buck Hill Snowboard Points Series #3 Halfpipe: The city's winter sports mecca is hosting casual snowboarding events on Thursday nights. The event starts at 7:00 p.m.

• Burnsville High Holiday Concert Series: BHS bands will perform in concert on Thursday. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Mraz Center. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at the door or in the main office two days in advance.

• SD 40 DFL Holiday Happy Hour: Burnsville Dems are invited to a casual gathering at the . The fun starts at 5:30 p.m.

Friday

• Burnsville High Holiday Concert Series: BHS bands will perform in concert once more on Friday. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Mraz Center. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at the door or in the main office two days in advance.

• Fenmo — The Beauty of Acrobatics: Two top-rated Chinese acrobatic groups — Jiangsu Performing Arts Group and China Wuqiao Acrobatic Troupe — will perform at the on Friday and Saturday.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 for VIP seats, $30 for adults, and $23 for students aged 12 and under and seniors.
