101 Students Receive Scholarships From Dakota Electric

Dakota Electric Association said it donated $160,000 in scholarships this year.

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — 101 graduating high school seniors received scholarships from Dakota Electric, the Association announced.

Students from Inver Hills Community College and Dakota County Technical College also received scholarships, the association said.

Dakota Electric Association said it donated $160,000 in scholarships this year, and nearly $2 million in scholarships since 1990.

“We are pleased to be able to help our local students this way,” Dakota Electric’s President and
CEO Greg Miller said. “As a not-for-profit electric cooperative, Dakota Electric is proud to provide these scholarships from unclaimed capital credits as an investment in the future of our local youth."

The money for the scholarships came from unclaimed patronage capital, also known as capital credits, the association said.
