$200 Gift Cards For Vaccinated MN Kids: Find A Shot In Eagan

Minnesota kids ages 5-11 are eligible for $200 gift cards if they receive both doses of the coronavirus vaccine between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28.

EAGAN, MN — Minnesota officials are offering gift cards to Minnesota kids who get vaccinated against the coronavirus to start 2022, and there are many places find a vaccine in and near Eagan.

Minnesota kids who are 5-11 will get a $200 Visa gift card if they receive their first and second doses of the coronavirus vaccine between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28 through the "Kids Deserve a Shot" campaign. Families can receive a $200 gift card for each child vaccinated during that period.
Families can request gift cards until 11:59 p.m. Feb. 28, with officials to distribute them in March.

The Pfizer-BioNTech is the only coronavirus vaccine the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has authorized for emergency use for children ages 5-11.

Residents who receive the coronavirus vaccine made by Pfizer-BioNTech must get their second shots at least 21 days after the first, according to the CDC.

That means kids must get their first shots by Feb. 7 to have enough time to get their second shots by the end of February and qualify for a gift card.

Minnesota's "Kids Deserve a Shot" campaign also awarded $100,000 scholarships to five students in 2021 to encourage children to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The campaign also offered a slew of other prizes to encourage kids to get vaccinated, including tickets and gear from Minnesota's professional and college sports teams, a "zookeeper for a day" experience, and much more.

Officials are set to bring back scholarship drawings in the spring.
