After-School Activities Canceled In ISD 196 Due To Storm

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — All after-school and evening activities in ISD 196 are cancelled Wednesday, the district announced.

The district cited the storm forecasted for Wednesday night as the reason for the cancellations.

High winds, thunderstorms and possible tornadoes are all possible, NWS said.

Wednesday's high temperatures will melt the snow, but the returning cold temperatures Thursday are expected to cause a flash-freeze on roads and bridges.

School-age care will go until 6 p.m. as usual, the district said.

Families should also plan for a potential change in the school schedule Thursday morning due to the potential flash-freezing, which would be communicated in a separate message, the district said.
