EAGAN, MN — Amazon has reportedly canceled its plans to bring groceries stories to suburbs in the Twin Cities metro area.

Axios — which previously reported that "Amazon Fresh" stores were being built in Eagan, Eden Prairie, Arden Hills, Lakeville, Coon Rapids, and Burnsville — said Tuesday that Amazon is abandoning those plans.

Amazon Fresh stores do not employ cashiers. Instead, their smart carts use technology that automatically determines the products that the customer has chosen.
