Author Ethan Rutherford Leads Teen Writing Workshop

A writer whose work has received special mention and awards will be leading a teen writing workshop at Wescott Library on Monday.

Ethan Rutherford is the author of The Peripatetic Coffin and Other Stories, and his work has appeared in other collections of short stories. He has taught at Macalester College, the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota. 

Rutherford will lead the teen writing workshop, focusing on fiction writing. Students ages 12 to 18 years old are invited to attend. The workshop is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is required. 

Also on Monday:

The Friends of Wescott Library Homeschool Science Series will feature the 3M Wizards. The group will explore cryogenics with school-aged children through demonstrations and experiments: "Learn how liquid nitrogen at negative 320 degrees Fahrenheit affects objects."

The 3M Wizards will be at Wescott Library from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13.
