Burnsville Man, 39, Killed Walking Across Highway 13

The crash happened just before 6 p.m. in Burnsville on Monday.

BURNSVILLE, MN — A 39-year-old Burnsville man was killed while crossing Highway 13 Monday evening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Just before 6 p.m., a 2013 Ram 1500 pickup truck was traveling westbound on Highway 13 while a pedestrian was walking north across the highway at Nicollet Avenue, according to authorities.

The truck — driven by an 18-year-old Prior Lake man — struck the pedestrian, investigators said.

The pedestrian, identified as Jacob John Witt, died at the scene. The driver was uninjured.

Alcohol was not detected on the driver, authorities said. Road conditions were wet at the time of the collision, according to investigators.
