City Of Eagan Wins 3 National 'Voice Of The People' Awards

EAGAN, MN — The city of Eagan announced that it won three three national Voice of the People awards.

The national rewards were the result of the National Research Center’s 2020 National Citizen Survey, the city said. The survey showed that 98 percent of Eagan residents had positive things to say about the city's quality of life, Eagan said.

The City of Eagan has won 2021 Voice of the People awards for:

• Excellence in Foundations in Livability(considered a "best of" community award)
• Excellence in Natural Environment
• Transformation in Natural Environment

"Eagan's high ratings across multiple categories on The National Community Survey show the community is working hard to meet the needs of residents," Julia Steege-Reimann, spokesperson for the National Community Survey said. "Eagan should be commended for their leadership and excellence in local government."

Eagan also earned the top national Voice of the People award for public safety in both 2016 and 2018, the city said.

National Research Center said that the community feedback Eagan received placed it in the "top tiers of livability in the country."

"That’s why it such an honor to win these top awards. It is extremely gratifying to know that nearly every resident has positive feelings towards the quality of life here in Eagan. Eagan has always prided itself on providing the highest level of service to those who live, work, and play in our community. By investing in our people, services, programs, engaging with our community, and adapting to changing needs of our increasingly diverse population, we seem to have found the right formula for Eagan to continue to be a successful city and a strong community– and we are proud of that."

This approach allows us to continue to build partnerships within our community, which helps ensure the on-going success of Eagan."
