Dakota County Winter Storm Watch Now A Warning: New Details
The winter storm watch issued Wednesday for Friday's snowstorm has been upgraded to a warning. Heavy snow is expected.
DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — The winter storm watch for Dakota County has been upgraded to a winter storm warning according to National Weather Service, meaning residents should expect heavy snow and take caution while traveling.
The warning is in effect from noon on Friday to 6 a.m. on Saturday.
Heavy snow of 6-8 inches in expected, but NWS said that up to a foot of snow is possible.

There will also be blowing snow that will further reduce visibility along parts of the I-90 corridor.
"If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency," NWS advised.
