Eagan-Area Schools Outperform State Averages On Science, Math, Reading

District 196 high school students tested 11 percentage points better than the state average in science.

EAGAN, MN — Independent School District 196 Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan outperformed state averages on reading, math, and science tests given last spring, according to results released by the Minnesota Department of Education last week.

The annual tests measure how many students in a certain grade are "proficient" in a particular subject. In District 196, high school students tested 11 percentage points better than the state average in science.

However, across Minnesota, the number of students who meet the standards in math, reading, and science over time has declined since the pandemic, according to state data.
