EAGAN, MN — Applications are now open for Eagan Community Foundation community grants.
Applications opened Wednesday and will be open until March 15, the Foundation said in a news release.
The grants program supports non-profits in Eagan and all non-profits are eligible to apply, the news release said. Applicants are encouraged to add details to their applications to reflect their need, the Foundation said.

"While we will consider all grant proposals, we particularly encourage applications addressing key needs such as shelter/housing, at-risk youth, those in economic need, access to nutritious food and youth development," David Lutz, Eagan Community Foundation Grants chairperson, said. "We also prioritize community building and support for arts and culture."
Grants typically range from $500-$1,500, the Foundation said. In 2021, Eagan Community Foundation said it awarded $22,000 to 22 non-profits in Eagan. The amounts for this year's grants will be finalized after the Foundation's annual fundraiser, which is Feb. 24 at Omni Viking Lakes Hotel, the news release said.

"Granting the funds as strategically as possible is our ultimate aim but the process is really important to us as well," Foundation Executive Director, Jamie Hopkins, said. "Our Youth Philanthropy Initiative returns for its third year enabling Eagan to youth review grants, discuss community issues and priorities, learn some group decision making techniques, and make final funding decisions. We are also excited to take our first steps towards community-led grantmaking."
This year, the Foundation is inviting community members to help select grant recipients, Hopkins said.
Recipients will be announced in early April and grants will be presented in late April at a Community Grants Recognition Event, the news release said.
