Aug. 18
-A caller in the 1800 block of Silver Bell Road reported witnessing a hit-and-run accident and told police the name of the suspect. The caller said the driver backed into another car and drove away without stopping.

-A caller told police that a man had stolen a guard rail at Cedar Avenue and Nicols Road the night before. The suspect was described as an older white male, about 5-foot-4, with gray hair.
-A caller in the 1300 block of Balsam Street East reported that someone took an iPod and pack of cigarettes out of a car overnight. The thief left behind a wedding ring, a Rolex watch and a checkbook.

-A caller in the 1700 block of Woodgate Lane reported that someone stole a ring from her home. The caller said she suspected her son’s friend, but didn’t want police to investigate.
-A caller in the 1300 block of Windcrest Avenue reported that someone threw six eggs at the house overnight. The suspect was the ex-boyfriend of the caller’s daughter.
-Police cited a driver at Cedar Grove Parkway and Silver Bell Road for driving on a suspended license, driving with no insurance, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
-Police responded to a report in the 4300 block of Lodgepole Drive of an unconscious 3-month-old baby. CPR was performed, but the child died.
-An employee of Walmart in the 1300 block of Town Centre Drive reported a shoplifting incident that was captured on surveillance video. The suspect, who reportedly had shoplifted before at the same store, stole bedding and a vacuum cleaner, the same items he took before, according to the Walmart employee.
-A caller told police that a man walking his daughter in a stroller at Diffley Road and Nicols Road had kicked the child. The man told police he was having trouble with the stroller and had kicked the wheel.
Aug. 19
-A caller in the 3000 block of Shields Drive reported that she was being harassed by a neighbor because she had complained about the neighbor’s dog. The neighbor, whom police said had been drinking, was advised to leave the caller alone.
-Police cited a 46-year-old man at Ivy Court and Wescott Square for driving without proof of insurance, failing to signal and having the wrong address on his driver’s license.
Aug. 20
-A caller in the 900 block of Wescott Trail reported that a 31-year-old woman had intentionally taken an overdose of 25 sleeping pills. The woman, who was conscious, was taken to the hospital.
-A caller in the 1500 block of Cliff Road reported that someone had broken in the door of the Subway restaurant. The caller said she and several others noticed the damage when they arrived for a Weight Watchers meeting next door. Police determined that someone stole $1,900 from a safe in the back of the restaurant.
-A caller in the 2200 block of White Water Way reported that a man hit a woman in the face and tore at her clothes while at a party. The woman declined medical treatment.
-A caller in the 500 block of Diffley Road reported that someone had damaged the lock on a storage unit, and the caller couldn’t get into it. Police determined that someone using pliers damaged the lock, making the key useless.
-An employee of a business in the 500 block of Diffley Road reported that someone broke into the business using a “plier-like tool” and took a laptop computer, $150 to $200 in cash and a personal check.
-A caller told police that two men appeared to be going through a car parked at Denmark Avenue and Timbershore Lane, and that a third man had walked away from the scene. The caller said the other two men left the car but weren’t carrying anything, but believed the incident was suspicious.
-Someone used pink spray paint to paint a penis on the road in front of a house in the 4700 block of Wildwood Street. Police suspected it was the work of juveniles and asked the caller to contact the homeowners’ association to have it covered up.
-A caller in the 3400 block of Greenwood Court South reported that someone stole his license plate while his car was parked outside his house.
-Police responded to a medical call in the 1900 block of Turquoise Trail. When they arrived, they found a man who had died of an apparent heart attack.
-A 36-year-old woman turned herself in at the Eagan police station on an outstanding warrant for felony drug possession. The woman, described as “fully cooperative,” was arrested and taken to the Dakota County Jail.
-Police arrested a 40-year-old woman for DUI at the BP station in the 1400 block of Yankee Doodle Road. Employees reported that the woman was stumbling and couldn’t stand up without swaying or leaning on something, and appeared to be having trouble figuring out how to pump gas.
Aug. 21
-Police cited a 28-year-old woman for possession of drug paraphernalia in the 3400 block of Wescott Woodlands.
-A caller in the 4000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue told police that a man had passed out in a front yard. Police arrested a 19-year-old man and two juveniles for underage drinking, and cited another juvenile for underage drinking, violating curfew, possession of tobacco, possession of a small amount of drugs, having an open bottle in a car and illegally tinted windows.
-A caller in the 2000 block of Flint Drive reported a woman attempting to hit him, yelling and screaming at him with children present. The children’s mother was called and came to collect the children; nobody was cited.
-A caller in the 2000 block of Bluestone Lane reported that he had been bitten by a neighbor’s dog while he was mowing the lawn. The caller said he had to get a tetanus shot and told police that the same dog – which was unlicensed – had bitten his daughter a few years earlier.
-Police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 1100 block of Diffley Road and cited a 63-year-old man for failing to yield. The driver of the other car suffered minor injuries.
-A caller reported that a semitruck with New Jersey license plates sideswiped her car at Lexington Avenue and Patrick Road, but didn’t stop.
-A caller in the 600 block of Crimson Leaf Trail reported that someone spray-painted graffiti on the street overnight, and said a woman had gotten out of a car 10 minutes earlier and added more graffiti.
-A caller in the 4900 block of Pilot Knob Road reported that someone broke into her car and stole her purse while she walked around the lake in Jensen Park.
-The Holiday station in the 4500 Nicols Road reported a gasoline drive-off. Police checked the license plate number and found that the car was registered to an auto dealership in Burnsville.
-Police responded to a hit-and-run accident at Denmark Avenue and Town Centre Drive. A driver told police that the driver of a car jumped out to catch a dog and left her car unattended, allowing it to roll into the other car. The suspect jumped back into her car and fled. Police traced the owner, a 39-year-old woman, and found miscellaneous pills, including methadone, in an unlabeled vial in her car. She will be charged by formal complaint.
-A caller in the 1100 block of Duckwood Trail told police that his boyfriend had punched him and given him a bloody nose after they argued about bills. Police arrested a 27-year-old man for domestic assault and obstructing justice with force.
-Police stopped a car at Argenta Trail West and Yankee Doodle Road and arrested a 19-year-old man for violating a domestic abuse no-contact order.
-Police arrested a 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl for going through cars and stealing change in the 4500 block of Cinnamon Ridge Trail. The two were cited for theft, motor vehicle tampering and violating curfew, and were released to their parents.
Aug. 22
-A caller in the 4400 block of Nicols Road reported that someone left graffiti on a building in Rahn Park.
-A caller in the 2900 block of Lone Oak Circle reported that a driver who had been fired had punched the company’s safety manager in the eye after he told him that he hadn’t passed a road test. The manager said he didn’t want to press charges, and the suspect left the premises.
-A 17-year-old girl reported to police that her mother had locked her out of the house. Police accompanied her home and spoke to her mother, who let her inside.
-A caller in the 3500 block of Blue Jay Way reported that someone stole a GPS and a Masonic ring from an unlocked car overnight.
-A caller in the 4500 block of Slater Road reported that her daughter was at her apartment, and that she had outstanding warrants. Police arrested the 21-year-old woman.
-A caller at Jensen Lake in the 1300 block of Carriage Hill Drive told police that an abandoned canoe had been found on the lake.
-A woman reported to police that she had been raped in March. She described the man to police and said he had left his name and number and told her to call if she needed anything.
-Police cited three juvenile females for shoplifting from Walmart in the 1300 block of Town Centre Drive. The three were released to their parents.
-A caller in the 4600 block of Bristol Boulevard reported that her 15-year-old daughter had walked away from a treatment center with three other people and was at her home. A few hours later, the same woman called to report that the girl had pulled the phone from the wall and was out of control. Police attempted to have crisis counselors intervene, but they refused. The girl was left with her parents, who were advised to call police again if there was more trouble.
-A caller in the 700 block of Castleton Court told police that someone broke into a car overnight and left a package of syringes behind.
-The Holiday station in the 1500 block of Cliff Road reported a $61 gasoline drive-off.
-Police arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl in the 3300 block of Norwest Court for possession of drug paraphernalia.
-A caller in the 900 block of Northview Park Road reported that someone broke a window in her vehicle and stole her purse, which had been tucked beneath the driver’s seat.
-A caller reported that two men appeared to be trying to break into Kentucky Fried Chicken in the 4500 block of Erin Lane. The two men told police they were trying to get into the restaurant through the drive-through window because they were employees and had left their keys inside. One of the two was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Aug. 23
-A caller in the 4500 block of Slater Road told police that he had seen someone inside a car “messing with a stereo” and believed it was suspicious. Police arrested a 26-year-old woman on an outstanding warrant and also cited her for possession of drug paraphernalia.
