Eagan Police Blotter: Aug. 30-31

Aug. 30

-A resident in the 1400 block of Kingswood Road reported that someone broke into a car, rifled through the owner’s belongings and smoked marijuana.

-A resident in the 4100 block of New York Avenue reported that someone accessed her bank account and charged $110 worth of items online. Hundreds more in attempted transactions were denied by her bank.

-A caller in the 3000 block of Denmark Avenue reported that someone used her checking account number to open a membership at Sam’s Club.

-Police served an arrest warrant in the 4500 block of Slater Road and arrested a 20-year-old man, who was also cited for underage drinking.

 -A caller in the 4300 block of Rahn Road reported that several mailboxes were damaged in the area overnight.

-A caller told police that he left his wallet at a gas station in the 4500 block of Nicols Road, and someone took it and used his check card in Burnsville.

-A caller in the 3400 block of Washington Drive told police that he initiated a transaction on Craigslist.com to sell a 1996 Land Rover. He said some suspects who expressed interest have had the vehicle for about a month without paying for it, and he’s been unable to reach them.

-An employee of Simply Self Storage in the 4000 block of Highway 13 reported that someone used a bolt cutter to break into eight storage units overnight. Five or six handguns were stolen from one of the units.

-A caller in the 3800 block of Pilot Knob Road reported that a man had violated a protection order via e-mail. Police determined that the suspect had not been served with the protection order.

-Police responded to a two-car accident at Golfview Drive and Lexington Avenue. One person in one of the cars suffered symptoms of shock. A 22-year-old female was cited for failure to yield.

-An employee of Walmart in the 1300 block of Town Centre Drive reported a shoplifting, telling police that the suspect took between $200 and $300 worth of video games and fled the store on foot.

-Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Pilot Knob Road and Yankee Doodle Road. There were no injuries, and no citations were issued.

-Police responded to a four-car chain-reaction accident at Deerwood Drive and Deerwood Trail. There were no injuries; police cited a 16-year-old girl for inattentive driving.

-A caller in the 1300 block of High Site Drive reported that one of her neighbors, who was possibly intoxicated, said he was going to kill an upstairs neighbor because he was too loud. Police couldn’t reach the suspect; the caller said she would call back if she saw him outside.

Aug. 31

-Police responded to a complaint of a group of about 10 juveniles loitering in the 3900 block of Elrene Road. The girls had been at a sleepover and sneaked out of the house; the parents at the house hosting the sleepover called the parents to collect their daughters. One girl was cited for violating curfew.
