This Eagan Restaurant Closed In 2020: Report

94 total Twin Cities restaurants closed in 2020.

EAGAN, MN — We all know that 2020 was a hectic year for many, especially local businesses. The Star Tribune reported in December that 94 Twin Cities restaurants closed in 2020, including a restaurant in Eagan.

With more and more people getting vaccinated, restaurants have finally begun to open up but Bonfire Wood Fire Cooking announced May 2020 that it would not be reopening after the pandemic.

The restaurant had locations in Eagan, Savage, Blaine and Woodbury.

"On March 17th, we closed the doors to the Bonfire Restaurants, to protect the health of our team, and the community. And today, we have reached the exceedingly difficult decision that the Bonfire legacy will come to an end," the restaurant said in May.

"As you know, the future of hospitality is incredibly uncertain and over the past month, we have tried our best to navigate this uncharted territory. We have explored multiple paths to emerge triumphant at the end of this pandemic, but there's just no way for us to support the financial weight of our company and the building we call home. We were already walking a fine line before COVID-19 and given that no one knows how long the impacts of this pandemic will last, or what the new normal will be, I do not see a viable path forward."
