Eagan Woman Pleads Guilty in Pedestrian Death

Alissa Lynn Anderson admitted to police that she was speeding when she struck and killed a Bloomington woman in St. Paul last November.

An Eagan nurse charged with speeding through an intersection in St. Paul last year, striking and killing a pedestrian, has pleaded guilty to one of two misdemeanor charges against her.

Alissa Lynn Anderson, 31, admitted driving between 31 and 40 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Police say Anderson’s SUV was eastbound on Grand Avenue, near the intersection with Hamline Avenue, just after 7 p.m. last Nov. 9. She admitted to police that she was talking to a friend on her cell phone and looked down briefly to put the phone in her lap.
