ISD 196 Nixes Mask Mandate
Effective immediately, masks will no longer be required in district buildings or on transportation.
DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — The ISD 196 School Board voted Tuesday to update the district's 2021-22 COVID-19 Operational Plan, reversing its previous mask mandate, according to the district's website.
The community level of COVID-19 is categorized as "low" based on updated guidance by the CDC, and the district changed wearing masks to "optional" to reflect this, the district said.
Updated CDC guidance also removed the requirement of having to wear masks on public transportation and school buses, the district said.
