EAGAN, MN — Kirk Cousins has received an offer to resign with the Minnesota Vikings, but he's decided to test the free agency market, according to multiple reports.

Free agency officially starts at 3 p.m. central across the NFL. Cousins may resign with Minnesota by day's end if the other offers leave him unimpressed, ProFootballTalk reports.

The 35-year-old quarterback may be about to sign the final contract of his career and isn't looking to leave any money on the table. But the Vikings won't let him walk away without a fight, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

"Atlanta would have to step up in a way to essentially pry him loose from the Vikings. And the best I can tell, I don't know if that will happen," Schefter said on "Get Up" Monday morning.

Cousins is by far the biggest name in this year's free agency market, and a lot of dominos will fall after he makes his decision.

According to the Atletic's Dianna Russini, "The entire league is waiting for the Kirk Cousins' decision as it truly shapes so much of this free agency. Teams not even in the QB market want and need to know."

Minnesota is in relatively decent shape when it comes to free agency spending money. The club has about $37 million in salary cap space this offseason, which is about the middle of the league, according to OverTheCap.com.
