Man Killed In Eagan Shooting Saturday: Police

The Eagan Police Department said it doesn't believe there is an active threat to the public.

EAGAN, MN — A man died Sunday after being shot in the head Saturday in Eagan, according to the city's police department.

At 6:56 p.m. on Saturday, the Eagan Police Department said officers responded to a report of somebody with a gunshot wound on Silver Bell Road.

Police believe the suspect drove away, crashed and then tried to run away. Officers found the suspect and a weapon, police said.

The victim was identified as Faisal A. Abukar, 33 of Eagan, according to officials. He was taken to the hospital where he died Sunday, according to police.

The Eagan Police Department said it doesn't believe there's a threat to the public at this time, but is asking anybody with information on the shooting to come forward. It remains an open investigation, and Eagan detectives and crime scene personnel are interviewing witnesses and processing the crime scene, according to police.
