Minnesota Vikings QB JJ McCarthy Will Not Play Next Game

Backup quarterback Carson Wentz will get the start, according to Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell.

EAGAN, MN — Minnesota Vikings QB JJ McCarthy has been ruled out for Sunday’s game in Minneapolis against the Cincinnati Bengals due to an ankle injury.

Backup quarterback Carson Wentz will get the start, according to Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell. Former Minnesota Gophers QB Max Brosmer will be the backup.

The news comes after McCarthy’s second start ended in disappointment on Sunday. He oversaw a 22–9 home loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
