EAGAN, MN — Minnesota Vikings General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah got busy after losing Kirk Cousins to the Falcons in the first hours of NFL free agency Monday.

Overnight, the Vikings agreed to sign Sam Darnold, 26, to a one-year deal worth $10 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rappaport and others. Darnold was selected third overall by the New York Jets in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The short-term move suggests Minnesota will try to snag their quarterback of the future in the upcoming draft.
