MRI Reveals Good News For MN Vikings QB Sam Darnold

Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold left Sunday's game against Houston late in the third quarter for one play after he was hit in the knees.

EAGAN, MN — An MRI on Monday revealed bruising but no structural damage in the left knee of Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold, the team announced.

Darnold left Sunday's game against Houston late in the third quarter for one play after he was hit in the knees by former Vikings edge rusher Danielle Hunter.

Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell told the media that Darnold underwent an "extensive evaluation" and hopes the QB can have a normal week of practice.

Minnesota goes on the road to play division rival Green Bay Packers in Week 4.

Darnold on Sunday threw for four touchdowns and led Minnesota to a 34-7 win over Houston. The Vikings are now 3-0.
