'Mt. Eden Prairie' Downgraded To 'Eden Prairie Ridge'
The snowpack in the Target parking lot survived several 80-degree days this week, but it's stature is decreased.

EDEN PRARIE, MN — "Mt. Eden Prairie," the massive pile of ice and snow located in the parking lot of the Eden Prarie Target store, has been downgraded to "Eden Prairie Ridge" following three straight sunny, 80-degree days.
The urban mountain became a viral sensation in March after someone mysteriously placed a Target shopping cart on top of the pile, which grew dramatically during the historically-snowy winter in the Twin Cities metro area.
But the formation quickly began shrinking this week when July-type weather suddenly arrived in mid-April.

In a status update Friday, the city's police force suggested that the mountain designation should be replaced with the more humble "ridge."
The good news for Mt. Eden Prairie preservationists is the weather will quickly turn again this weekend, with temperatures plunging into the 30s. There's even a chance for the formation to regain some of its lost stature with new snow.
