• Minnesota DHS issues two-year moratorium on home, community-based services (hometownsource.com) — A new two-year state moratorium on licensing home and community-based services is already affecting how group homes expand in Eagan, where licenses have jumped from 51 in 2019 to 76 today. City officials say inquiries about autism centers and assisted living-style group homes are coming in nearly every day, though assisted living facilities licensed by the Health Department are not covered by the moratorium. 
• Matters of Record for Jan. 7, 2026 (duluthnewstribune.com) — A recent St. Louis County court report includes a citation for a 70-year-old Eagan resident fined $50 for a hands-free cellphone law violation, alongside dozens of similar traffic and misdemeanor cases from around Minnesota. While the bulk of the list focuses on Duluth and Iron Range communities, it offers a reminder that Eagan drivers can face the same penalties when they’re on the road up north.
• Century standout travels through Europe with Northern Lights Volleyball club team (allusanewshub.com) — Eagan volleyball players are part of a Burnsville-based Northern Lights club team that just spent the holidays competing in major youth tournaments in Austria and the Netherlands, winning one and placing third in another. The roster, which also includes a standout from Rochester Century, gained valuable international experience while documenting their travels with journals and videos.
