PHOTOS: Eagan Neighbors Build Igloo For TikTok Challenge

A simple TikTok turned into a two-week project when these Eagan neighbors decided to build an igloo in their yard.

EAGAN, MN — Watching a TikTok video turned into a two-week project for an Eagan family who decided to build an igloo in their yard.

Jennifer Kaczrowski told Patch that she got the idea from watching a TikTok of a Canadian family build their igloo and texted the idea to her husband and neighbors.

Kaczrowski said the group used aluminum foil pans to make the ice bricks and a mix of snow and water to create the "slurry mix" — almost like mortar — to go in between.

"We'd do a row at a time and let 'em freeze and then we'd make more bricks," she told Patch.

The project was fun for both the adults and kids, Kaczrowski said.

"It was fun to have something to do in the winter, it gave the adults something to do," she said. "It was fun. We brought out a floodlight and lit it up at nighttime and took the kids out and had hot chocolate. They've been loving it, taking toys and games and stuff in there to play."
