President Of Eagan Law Firm Announces Run For County Attorney

Jeff Sheridan announced his run for the Dakota County Attorney's Office Sunday.

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — Jeff Sheridan announced on Sunday that he will run for the Dakota County Attorney's Office in the Nov. 2022 election.

Sheridan is the president and co-managing shareholder of Sheridan & Dulas, P.A., a law firm in Eagan, his campaign said in a news release.

According to the news release, Sheridan has been defending those charged with crimes for over 35 years, which gives him a unique perspective on how to keep Dakota County safe and prosperous.

Sheridan's campaign said he graduated with honors from Hamline University School of Law in 1987, and has been in private practice in Dakota County since. He has appeared in nearly ever courthouse in Minnesota, argued over 100 cases in Minnesota Court of Appeals, over a dozen cases in Minnesota Supreme Court and argued two successful cases in the United States Supreme Court, he said.

Sheridan was also recognized recently as a "Minnesota Icon" by Finance and Commerce and Minnesota Lawyer for his work in criminal defense, the news release said. He was also named "Attorney of the Year" three times by Minnesota Lawyer after he won three separate landmark court decisions, he said.

Sheridan said he has also been named in Minnesota Lawyer's peer chosen list of "Best Lawyers in America" every year since 2007, was "Lawyer of the Year" in 2013 and 2019 and has been on the list on "SuperLawyers" every year since 2006.

"I am excited to put my experience and knowledge to work protecting public safety and pursuing justice for my community," Sheridan said.

Sheridan also volunteered at Eagan Hockey Association and Eagan Athletic Association while his children attended school in ISD 196, the news release said. He currently lives in Lakeville with his wife, according to the news release.

Sheridan also is licensed as a commercial pilot and volunteers as a pilot for the Minnesota Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, a World War II military aircraft museum in Dakota County, according to the news release.
