Red Pine Elementary Names New Principal

EAGAN, MN — Tony Washington was recently named the new principal of Red Pine Elementary School, ISD 196 said.

Current principal Drew Goeldner will be the new principal of Greenleaf Elementary School, according to the district. Both principals will begin their new positions July 1, the district said.

Washington is currently assistant administrator at Red Pine Elementary, the district said.

He was previously a principal in Edina from 2015-2017 before working as an assistant for schools in Inver Grove Heights and St. Cloud, ISD 196 said.

He came to Red Pine Elementary in 2021, according to ISD 196.

Washington began his teaching career in 1998 in Hopkins, the district said.

He has a Bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and his specialist's and Master's degrees in education from the University of St. Thomas.
