Running For Office In Eagan? File For Candidacy By May 31

Two City Council seats and the Mayor seat will be up for election.

EAGAN, MN — If you're interested in running for office during the 2022 elections in Eagan, you must file an affidavit for candidacy by May 31. The filing period opened Tuesday, the city said.

Seats that are up for re-election include two City Council seats as well as the Mayor seat, according to the city's website. Both of these positions have 4-year terms, the city said.

Candidate filings are accepted in-person at City Hall and may also be mailed to as long as they arrive by May 31, according to the city's website.

The affidavits for candidacy must be notarized and candidates must pay a $5 filing fee, the city said.
