The 2022 Words in Action Contest kicked off on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and culminated with the winning entries being recognized at the Feb. 8 City Council meeting.

This marks the second year for the contest which celebrates the powerful speeches Dr. King delivered and the compelling letters and essays he wrote. Youth ages 18 and younger who live or go to school in Eden Prairie were asked to select quotes from Dr. King and express what they mean personally and what actions they or the community as a whole can take to carry forward his legacy through writing, art or audio/video.
