Eden Prairie Police Celebrate 40 Years

The department started on Jan. 1, 1973. Four past chiefs and current Police Chief Rob Reynolds appear in a video celebrating four decades of public service.

The department has created a video that honors current and former officers and chiefs. The video was posted Thursday on the police department blog.

"The (Eden Prairie Police Department) officially began when former Mayor Paul Redpath christened the first Eden Prairie squad car in front of his home," according to the blog post. "Mayor Redpath poured champagne over the squad’s front bumper and Officer Bruce Wojack called into service."
